Even the very best receive coaching. Why?
Have you ever wondered why even the very best—in any profession—receive coaching? Have you ever thought about why a top-notch athletes would need coaching? Why is it that so many success-minded professionals have used coaching to get to the top?
The reason is simple—we all have blind spots. We can struggle along on our own, and over time, using trial and error, we may be able to create success. The downside is the length of time that it will take, probably years.
Coaching speeds up your results.Professional athletes don't want to waste time. They want to rise to the top very quickly because they know if they don’t, their competition will beat them. It's the same in any profession; going slowly is a sure way to fail.
More and more people are realizing the value of coaching, and coaching has become the fastest growing profession. People hire business coaches for the following reasons:
- To increase their confidence.
- To stay focused.
- To create effective marketing strategies.
- To create and maintain a positive mindset.
- To get out of a slump or get “unstuck”.
- To have a committed ally who supports them.
Why I became a coachFrom 1980 to 1995, I worked very hard to build a business. Coaching hadn't really become a profession yet, and consultants were too expensive, so I built my own business by myself through the trial-and-error method.
By the end of 1995, I had succeeded in building a very successful business. I was the executive and marketing director of the Center for Personal Development, and I had 2 TV shows. The problem was the length of time it took me to become successful—15 years.
When I started building my second business, I did not want to take 15 years to become successful. This time I hired a business coach to help me get on track and stay on track. After a few short months of coaching, I had created the same level of success that it had taken me 15 years before to create!
Why? Because I had the help of a coach. I had someone to help me see past my blind spots, and use the marketing strategies that were most effective for me.
